A Sample of Past Grants
Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado
For pregnant teens or teen mothers, it’s often challenging or impossible to complete high school. The Sprout Foundation provided a grant to Florence Crittenton Services of Colorado to help teen mothers complete their education and become more skilled at parenting. While the mothers attend Florence Crittenton, they get class credits required to graduate from high school and their young children are cared for and given the support they need in an early childhood center located conveniently near the school and other services for pregnant or parenting teen mothers.
Invest in Kids
The mental, social, and emotional health of our children is critical. Invest in Kids offers the Incredible Years (IY) research-based prevention program to low-income children, their parents, and preschool and kindergarten teachers. IY teaches kids how to solve problems, control their anger, and self-monitor their emotions; it teaches parents skills known to promote children’s social competence and reduce behavior problems; and it teaches educators how to connect to children with challenging behaviors and how to help those children control their behaviors.
Little Sprouts Learning Center of Grand County
Via the Grand Foundation; Granby, CO
Little Sprouts Learning Center has responded to parent and community needs by providing a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment for infant-through-preschool age children. The Sprout Foundation has supported this learning center because of the county’s pressing need for infant care, as well as the community’s growing demand for toddler and preschooler programming.
The Sprout Foundation funded a scientific study of the impact of water diversions on the Fraser River and upper Colorado River through a restricted grant to Trout Unlimited.
Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado
Flood restoration, planting seeds, and invasive weed removal are some of the ways Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado helps restore our environment through the support of many local volunteers. The Sprout Foundation supported this organization’s hands-on Youth and Family Stewardship programs with a grant, to directly involve children in impactful activities that protect our environment.
